Kousaka-sensei is famous in the world of piano instruction for his strict teaching approach, which is rooted in the Hanon method. One of his students, Tsukishima Shou, has decided he no longer wants to continue lessons with him. When Shou's older brother, Ryou, drops him off at the lesson, he hopes that Kousaka will go easier on his younger brother. However, during a heated argument between Ryou and Kousaka, Shou boasts that Ryou is a far better pianist than their teacher. This revelation deeply unsettles Kousaka, who suddenly recognizes Ryou as someone he thought he would never meet again.
