In "Tonari no 801-chan," the story is told from the perspective of Tibet, a 28-year-old office worker who is also Yaoi's boyfriend. Yaoi is a 22-year-old fujoshi who works alongside him. A devoted female otaku, she has an intense love for yaoi—a genre focused on romantic relationships between male characters in anime and manga. Tibet and Yaoi first connected through an online meeting. Whenever Yaoi becomes especially absorbed in yaoi, a small, green, furry creature emerges from a zipper on her back, representing her passionate obsession with the genre.
