Kuraki Fuzuchi is a reserved young man who possesses formidable psychic abilities and exceptional skill with a sword. His path crosses with Takeo Nanachi, a college student harboring latent powers similar to his own. The narrative begins when Nanachi journeys to a remote mountain shrine for a festival held once every 49 years, intending to purify the sword that once belonged to his late grandfather. At the shrine, Nanachi encounters Kuraki and inadvertently observes his ceremony to become a Shaman. From that point forward, their fates become linked as they confront countless ghosts, spirits, and supernatural beings. Meanwhile, the story explores their past life through a parallel plotline.
