A Deadly Secret, also rendered under the alternate titles Requiem of Ling Sing and Secret of the Linked Cities, is a wuxia novel by Jin Yong (Louis Cha). It first appeared in serialized form in 1963, running in the Southeast Asia Weekly (東南亞周刊) magazine and the Hong Kong newspaper Ming Pao. The book was originally titled Su Xin Jian in Chinese before Jin Yong changed it to Lian Cheng Jue. The story centers on Di Yun, an ordinary young peasant, who is thrown into prison after being falsely accused. In his pursuit of vengeance, he inadvertently comes into possession of the Liancheng Swordplay manual (連城劍谱), an ancient artifact valued not only for the martial arts recorded within, but also for concealing a secret that leads to a hidden treasure.
