After Fanalia is left in ruins because its guardian, Escaflowne, was stolen, the kingdom is in shambles. Van Fanel, the Prince of Fanalia, is dispatched to Earth on a critical mission to find the means to unlock Escaflowne and restore it. When he arrives, he discovers that this key is possessed by a high school student named Hitomi Hoshino. With enemies constantly pursuing them, can Van and Hitomi succeed in recovering what was taken?
