After losing his mother, college student Hinata is taken care of by Midori, a dashing longtime friend. Though strict, Midori's kindness shines through as he consistently shields Hinata from harm. Hinata finds his guardian overly protective but fears Midori might abandon him, just as his family once did. When Hinata notices strange occurrences around Midori, he begins to suspect Midori might be a ghost and resolves to help this mysterious figure find peace. During his investigation, Hinata discovers a giant three-legged crow soaking in a bathtub—revealing that the crow is actually Midori! In truth, Midori is a deity with undisclosed reasons for staying close to Hinata. Feeling betrayed, Hinata questions Midori's motives and the genuineness of their bond; however, Hinata remains unaware that their time together may end sooner than expected.
