In the sci-fi drama Wonder 3, three alien inspectors are sent to Earth to determine whether the planet should be spared or obliterated by an antiproton bomb. Taking place during the turbulent year of 196X, when nuclear testing and worldwide strife are widespread, the Milky Way Confederation dispatches these advanced beings to judge Earth's fate. Disguised as a rabbit, duck, and horse to stay unnoticed among humans, Bokko, Pukko, and Nokko—the Amazing Three—touch down in the rural Japanese village of Ogawa-mura. There, they meet a lively yet kind young boy named Shinichi Hoshi, and they set off on a journey together. Meanwhile, Shinichi's sibling, Koichi, secretly works for the covert intelligence group "Phoenix" to fight a global conspiracy, something his family does not know. As Shinichi and the W3 explore this mystery more deeply, the trio's initial view of Earth as a cruel world gradually shifts because of their connection with Shinichi and Koichi.
