In "Comic Girls," Kaoruko Moeta—who goes by Chaos—is a fledgling manga artist whose stories lack the vitality needed for success. She wants to create tales centered on high school girls, but her storyboards, drawings, and concepts are all insufficient. Frustrated, her editor advises her to become more outgoing. Taking this suggestion to heart, Chaos moves into a dormitory exclusively for female mangaka. There, she quickly befriends her new roommates: Tsubasa Katsuki, a creator of shounen manga; Ruki Irokawa, an author of well-known erotic manga aimed at women; and Koyume Koizuka, a shoujo manga artist who is also awaiting serialization. As they grow close, Chaos rediscovers her creative drive, giving her artistic journey a fresh boost.
