In Yes! Pretty Cure 5, ordinary schoolgirl Nozomi Yumehara stumbles upon a magical book called the Dream Collet in her school library. Inside, she meets Coco and Nuts, residents of the Palmier Kingdom. They ask Nozomi to help restore their destroyed realm, which was shattered by the Nightmares, by completing the Dream Collet and gathering all 55 Pinkies to grant wishes. When the Nightmares begin attacking the real world, Nozomi accepts the quest. In turn, Coco and Nuts transform Nozomi into the magical girl Cure Dream, while her four classmates become her fellow Pretty Cures.
