Professor X is a mutant whose genetic mutation bestowed superhuman powers upon him. At the helm of the virtuous X-Men squad, he strives to bring about peaceful coexistence with ordinary humanity. When intelligence arrives about an attack on the Space Observation Center, Professor X sends Wolverine and the other veteran X-Men to respond. This leaves only Jubilee—an untested 13-year-old—and Professor X alone at headquarters. Magneto, the X-Men's sworn adversary, exploits this opening to strike. His objective: steal the mutant ability amplifier Cerebro stored at headquarters and use it to annihilate all of humanity.
