In the series Koutetsu Jeeg, Hiroshi Shiba—a gifted car racer—receives a fatal wound during a laboratory incident but is revived by his father, Professor Shiba, a celebrated scientist and archaeologist who researches artifacts from the ancient Yamatai Kingdom. After uncovering an enchanted bronze bell, the professor becomes the target of a dangerous threat when Queen Himika, the sovereign of Yamatai (also called Jamatai), dispatches her minions to retrieve the bell and its magical powers. Sadly, the professor is slain by these agents as they pursue the relic.
