In the Roland Empire, Ryner Lute is an apathetic student. After numerous battles and the loss of many comrades, the future ruler Sion Astal entrusts Ryner with the mission of searching for legendary artifacts to help rebuild the nation. Accompanying him is Ferris Eris, an exceptionally skilled yet arrogant swords-woman who frequently criticizes and mistreats Ryner. Meanwhile, a new threat looms over the empire.
