In Haunted Junction, Saitou High School is a place where both living students and restless spirits coexist. The Student Council works to preserve peace between the two groups, led by Haruto Houjou—a serious-minded boy whose father is a Christian pastor. Kazumi Ryuudou, a womanizer and the son of a Buddhist monk, and Mutsuki Asahina, a Shinto priest's daughter who has a fondness for young boys, are also important members. While many of the spirits wandering the school's corridors and basement are friendly, some are hostile and dangerous. To deal with these threats, the council uses seven specific ghosts based on Japanese urban legends, summoned via special badges that Haruto Houjou possesses.

Haunted Junction was partially published in Spanish by Planeta Cómic, who published the first four volumes in half-book format from May to December 1998.
