The renowned Cosmo Academy draws applicants from all the star nations scattered across the galaxy. One such hopeful is Tadatos Lane, an orphaned esper from Terra. The final phase of the entrance exam involves a dangerous mission simulation set aboard a real derelict spacecraft. Candidates are organized into groups of ten, yet when Tadatos's team boards the Esperanza, they realize there are eleven members. As the test progresses, various issues arise, escalating the tension within the group. Rumors of sabotage begin to circulate, and suspicion quickly falls on Tadatos as the primary culprit.

Background
11-nin Iru! won the 21st Shogakukan Manga Award in the Shoujo category in 1976. The series was published in English as part of VIZ Media's manga anthology Four Shoujo Stories released in March 1996, and was rereleased by Denpa on April 22, 2025. It was also released in Polish by Japonica Polonica Fantastica on January 10, 2014; and in Spanish by Tomodomo Ediciones on October 31, 2016.
