In Shibuya during 2008, Takumi Nishijou, a Suimei Academy student, gets caught up in a string of bizarre incidents called the New Generation events. These started on September 7, when five students died by jumping from a tower. On September 19, a man was found dead with a thirty-two-week fetus carved into his abdomen. On September 28, Takumi chats online with Grim, who recounts these disturbing happenings that Takumi has been trying to ignore. Shōgun then joins the conversation, and after Grim leaves, shows Takumi gruesome pictures of a brutal murder. The next day, leaving an internet café, Takumi comes across the exact crime scene from those images. Fleeing in terror, he meets a pink-haired girl covered in blood, wearing his school uniform. Despite trying to avoid Shōgun and the New Generation phenomena, Takumi gets pulled deeper into a far-reaching conspiracy.
