This is a masterful historical action drama that tackles the historical plot of aiming for Tokugawa Ieyasu’s head. In 1590, a ninja runs through the Hakone mountains while eluding his pursuers. That ninja is Fuma Kotaro. Ordered by Hojo Ujimasa to deliver the baby—the last remaining bloodline of the Hojo clan—safely and then raise that child, Kotaro manages to spirit the infant from the mother’s womb. Seventeen years later, that child, having been raised by Kotaro into a full-fledged ninja and now bearing the name Fuma Kotaro, is resolved to bring down Ieyasu and throws himself into a brutal struggle against the Hattori Nine Ninjas who guard Ieyasu.
