This adaptation of Toho's 1984 revival film The Return of Godzilla follows the King of the Monsters as he reawakens after three decades. A volcanic eruption stirs Godzilla from his hibernation, unleashing him upon the world once more. After a Russian nuclear submarine is destroyed by the kaiju, the United Nations convenes to consider using nuclear weapons to stop him. Unfortunately, Godzilla has just reached Tokyo and inadvertently triggers the doomsday weapon himself.
