Detective Ishida Tomohiro has just been appointed to his post when he arrives home one day to discover a stranger standing in his living room—completely naked. The man asks Tomohiro to state his name, but before the bewildered detective can reply, the intruder disappears into nothing. Not long after, Tomohiro finds himself caught up in a strange affair involving a cursed sword with the ability to possess people. Then the same man reappears, this time wearing clothes and very much solid. Introducing himself as Kyousuke, he turns out to be part of a police-affiliated unit that handles supernatural cases, and Tomohiro is promptly reassigned to it. From then on, he must cope with all manner of bizarre, out-of-this-world incidents in the company of his delightfully eccentric new coworkers.
