Hana to Hoshi

花と星

Hanai, a gifted junior high table tennis player with a perfect record, suffers an unexpected loss to a mysterious first-year student, which triggers a series of defeats and ultimately leads her to quit the sport before starting high school. On her first day as a high schooler, Hanai runs into the same girl who beat her, only to learn that she too has given up competitive table tennis. Nevertheless, the girl's distant attitude makes Hanai feel constantly watched and belittled. During a class, the girl falls asleep, and when Hanai leans over to wake her, the half-asleep girl smiles up at Hanai, their lips nearly touching. Later, the girl admits she was dreaming about Hanai, but Hanai dismisses it as a joke and walks away, oblivious to the girl's blush and hurt gaze as she watches her leave.

Hana to Hoshi was published in Polish as 2-in-1 omnibus by Waneko in July 2014.
