Chuukan Kanriroku Tonegawa is a spin-off from the Kaiji series, centering on Tonegawa, the trusted right-hand man of Kazutaka Hyoudou, who is the president of the Teiai Corporation and the mastermind behind numerous gambling schemes. Finding his everyday life dull, Hyoudou orders Tonegawa to arrange a "game of death" to provide him with amusement. As part of his duty to keep Hyoudou content, Tonegawa works alongside his team to carry out this directive. The series unfolds a comedic storyline through Tonegawa's interactions with his coworkers and other familiar figures from the Kaiji universe.
