Mayumi Azuma's manga adaptation of Star Ocean: The Second Story follows the storyline of the video game created by tri-Ace. The plot centers on Claude C. Kenni, a young ensign in the Earth Federation embarking on his first major assignment alongside his father, and Rena Lanford, a young woman from the rural village of Arlia on the planet Expel. The anime series Star Ocean EX, which recounts the events of the video game, bases its narrative on this manga. The manga has not been released in an English translation and is available only in Japanese.
