The story starts long ago in the distant past, near an ancient wall that resembles more of a cliff. Two young children grow up together: Sumire, a gentle girl, and Yasuhira, a bossy boy who deeply loves her. When Yasuhira proposes marriage to Sumire, it feels less like a surprise and more like confirming what everyone assumed would happen. But they don't get a happy ending—a bloodied sword appears, and someone is crying. Switching to modern times, a school now stands near that same ancient wall. Because the wall is so tall and imposing, students have naturally invented ghost stories about it. Some girls are determined to visit the wall, believing they can see real ghosts there. One classmate, Sumire, gets reluctantly dragged along. She tries to opt out, but her friends insist. When they reach the wall, Sumire feels an unusual wind and then sees a startling sight—a boy standing there, tears streaming down his face. Before she can say anything, her friends call her away. The boy looks stunned to see her. Sumire realizes he seems familiar... Could he be her classmate Katsuragi-kun?
