High school student Kuze Shunpei is heading to Hokkaidou for spring break when he loses his wallet. Stranded in the mountains with no money and a motorcycle that's run out of gas, he collapses in the snow by the roadside. Waking up, he discovers he's been rescued and taken to the Watarai farm, a horse ranch that breeds racehorses. There he encounters a variety of people, from stable hands to the owner and his family—which includes four daughters. Shunpei is utterly unsuited for farm life, and his urban upbringing clashes sharply with the hard labor needed to keep the farm running. Still, he does his best to earn acceptance. But he constantly argues with Hibiki, the second daughter, who sees him as useless. Things come to a head when Shunpei startles one of the horses, causing it to throw Hibiki (who is a rider). Ashamed, Shunpei flees back to Tokyo for the rest of spring break. Once in Tokyo, however, he starts to miss the simple farm life. Will Shunpei ever return and prove himself worthy of being part of the farm?
