In the final months of the Pacific War in 1945, Earth came under invasion by the Phantom Beasts, creatures from another dimension. These alien beings launched a full-scale war against humanity, forcing people to join forces in defense. Despite their unified resistance, the human race endured devastating losses, drastically weakening its military. Consequently, Japan began conscripting teenagers into service. Among these young draftees is Atsushi Hayami, who is forced to leave behind his high school life to battle for humanity's survival.
