In the setting of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, where the primary narrative involves armed conflict among the Earth Alliance, ZAFT, and the Orb Union, the Astray story centers on the three MBF-P0x prototype mobile suits, especially the MBF-P02 Astray Red Frame. This narrative delves into the experiences of the pilots and groups operating beyond the main SEED conflict. Lowe Guele, a junk dealer belonging to the Junk Guild, flies the MBF-P02 Astray Red Frame, while Gai Murakumo of the mercenary unit Serpent Tail controls the MBF-P03 Astray Blue Frame. Originally piloted by Rondo Ghina Sahaku, the Orb noble and primary antagonist of the Astray storyline, the MBF-P01 Astray Gold Frame is later taken over by Rondo's twin sister, Rondo Mina Sahaku.
