At eighteen, Nanase moves to sparkling Tokyo to start fresh, but rebooting turns out to be harder than expected, and her money disappears fast. When she lands in an awkward situation, a stranger named Shimazaki, who works at an advertising agency, comes to her rescue and promptly invites her to dinner. Almost starving, Nanase polishes off her meal and then dozes off on his shoulder. When she wakes, the seat is empty, and only a business card remains. With nothing to lose, she calls Shimazaki and receives a job offer from him.
