In the spring of 1998, Kouichi Sakakibara is set to begin at a new school in Yomiyama, but a medical emergency lands him in the hospital. While there, he encounters a mysterious dark-haired girl named Mei Misaki, who is wearing his school's uniform. This chance meeting leads to unforeseen consequences. After recovering and returning to Yomiyama North Middle School, Sakakibara notices that his classmates seem to ignore Misaki entirely. As he investigates the mystery surrounding her, their behavior grows more peculiar. When deaths begin to occur among the students of Class 3-3 under unusual and violent circumstances, Sakakibara starts to suspect that Misaki might be connected to these tragic events.
