Kannagi

Mikuriya Jin carves a figure out of a recently chopped sacred tree for his art project. Before he can bring it to school, the deity of that tree, Nagi, awakens inside the statue, having been unaware of the tree's destruction. With the sacred tree gone, Nagi must now personally protect the area from impurities and reluctantly enlists Jin's help. Background

Kannagi had four volumes published in English as Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens by Bandai Entertainment from June 7, 2011 to April 10, 2012 before the publisher went defunct. It has also been published in Italian by RW Edizioni under the GOEN imprint since November 28, 2015.
