This volume gathers three short stories: Gouyoku na Megami, Shokei Toshi, and Kootta Namida. The lead tale, Gouyoku na Megami, examines what it costs to be consumed by female youth and beauty. Its protagonist, Miharu, is a high school student who isn't particularly attractive. Her household includes a mother and an older sister, both dealing with their own appearance-related struggles, and a father who is rarely home because of his job. Everything shifts when Miharu becomes friends with Asaka, a gorgeous classmate whose mother was once a classmate of Miharu's own mother. Asaka makes a shocking claim: her mother is plotting to steal her body through a brain transplant. She begs Miharu to help stop it. Could such a bizarre allegation really be true?
