The conflict between King Odin's kingdom of Ragnanival and Queen Elfaria's realm of Ringford has laid waste to the country of Valentine, leaving only scattered ruins behind. The narrative unfolds through five intertwined perspectives: Gwendolyn, a valkyrie and Odin's younger daughter; Cornelius, a prince from the neutral nation of Titania; Mercedes, Elfaria's daughter and princess of Ringford; Oswald, a shadow knight serving Ringford; and Velvet, a survivor of Valentine's destruction.
