Yakeppachi no Maria

This unusual sex education manga takes place in a school setting and centers on Yakeppachi, a mischievous boy, and Maria, who is actually his ectoplasm. Yakeno Yahachi, nicknamed "Yakeppachi," enters a trance and calls forth a girl named Maria, whose personality reflects his own. In effect, Maria is Yakeppachi’s ectoplasm—a spectral, otherworldly material emitted by a medium during a séance, commonly called an astral body. Assuming the shape of a doll that Yakeppachi’s father gave to her, Maria begins going to school alongside him. Chaos erupts at the school; however, only their homeroom teacher Akita grasps the supernatural explanation. The situation escalates when a neighborhood gang called the "Group of Tateyoko," which had been watching Yakeppachi, discovers Maria’s real nature and begins trailing him with malicious intent. Further intensifying the strain is Yukisugi Midori, the head of the "Group of Tateyoko," who sees Maria’s appeal to the boys as a danger and schemes to assault her.
