The older brother Natsuo dreams of following in his late father's footsteps and becoming a great potter, while the younger sister Yuki dreams of becoming a singer. The two close siblings live together with their mother Hanae, who is sick, usually stays in bed, but one day Hanae's condition worsens and she, preparing for her own death, sends a letter to her wealthy family, hoping that Natsuo and Yuki can live together...
