After becoming a vampire, Albert found himself stuck in a monotonous loop—night became day as he shifted between bat and human forms. But this routine shattered when he unexpectedly traveled from the United States to Japan. A mishap at a Nebraska meat-processing plant flash-froze bat-Al together with the meal he was about to eat, and he ended up shipped overseas. Now, explaining his naked appearance and inability to speak Japanese to the authorities is impossible. Albert has to rely on the questionable goodwill of his new companions in Tokyo to manage this strange new life—if only they would believe that he truly is a vampire bat in human form.
