As Lucy settles into the guild, she forges deep connections with Natsu and other comrades, including the ice mage Gray Fullbuster and the formidable Erza "Titania" Scarlet. Together, this eclectic team sets off on countless adventures, gaining loyal friends and powerful enemies along the way.

Background

In 2009, Fairy Tail won the 33rd Kodansha Manga Award in the Shounen category, the Japan Expo Awards in the same category, and the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation's Industry Award for best comedy manga. As of February 2020, over 72 million copies of the manga are in circulation. The first 12 volumes of the series were published in English by Del Rey Comics from March 25, 2008, to September 28, 2010. Kodansha Comics USA picked up the license and released the rest of the series from May 10, 2011, to January 23, 2018. The publisher later released a 5-in-1 omnibus edition subtitled Master's Edition. It was also published in Spanish by Norma Editorial from October 30, 2008, to September 28, 2018; in Italian by Edizioni Star Comics from January 3, 2008, to May 1, 2019; in Brazilian Portuguese by Editora JBC from October 2010 to April 2018; in Polish by Studio JG since April 8, 2016; and in Argentina by Editorial Ivrea since December 30, 2016.
