The story of "Don't Leave Me Alone Daisy" follows Techno, a boy who spent most of his life in a bomb shelter alongside his highly intelligent grandfather. One day, he spots a girl named Hitomi in his yard and quickly becomes infatuated, insisting on calling her Daisy despite her objections. After three months of robot-assisted training, Techno decides to pursue a romantic connection with Hitomi, although his only action is watching her from a distance. His attempts to completely claim her fail, and during their chaotic relationship, his inventive brilliance frequently ends up endangering Hitomi—turning her into a fifty-foot giant, deploying a laser-firing substitute teacher, calling forth a massive slug, kidnapping her, and causing other strange events. Other eccentric characters include a teacher with bizarre clothing, a harmless rebellious boy whom Techno wants to get rid of along with his family, Techno's protective grandfather, Hitomi's friends, an android programmed to protect Hitomi and destroy Techno, two friendly missiles, and the rest of his classmates.
