Shuuto Haruno, who goes by the gamer tag "Kalbi," has been exchanging messages with an affable and attractive girl named "Maorin" for several weeks. When they agree to meet in person, Haruno hopes for a romantic connection, but his friends warn him about the risks of such encounters and suggest that Maorin might not be who she claims to be. Choosing to believe in the person he has grown attached to, Haruno goes ahead with the meeting. His uncertainty grows when Maorin arrives late, and his worst fears are realized when "Maorin" is revealed to be Mao Suzuki, a male student from the same college. Suzuki is popular and socially distant from Haruno. After the initial shock and misunderstanding, Haruno and Suzuki discover they share common interests, especially in gaming. Haruno recognizes that Suzuki still possesses the charming qualities that drew him to Maorin. Yet, knowing that Suzuki usually keeps his composure and only smiles for a particular girl, Haruno is left wondering whether his own feelings will ever be returned.
