Among the short stories collected in this volume, Quartet Game stands out as the longest and likely the most entertaining. A quartet of students at a music school stumbles upon a hidden musical score by sheer accident. As they look into it, they come to realize that the score is not the only thing at stake—music has the power to drive certain individuals to the point of murder. This tale has a mystery-like quality, but Yoshizumi's distinctive touch elevates it to cult status. It is the piece that lends the compilation its title. The other two stories are "Heart Beat" and "Another Day."
