The tale opens with the annihilation of Qingcheng by a band of martial arts zealots from Wudong. Their master and disciples share a single creed: to become the strongest. To maintain their dominance, they subjugate all other martial arts factions and kill those who refuse to submit. Yan Heng, a young swordsman from Qingcheng, is rescued by Jing Lie, known as the 'Wudang Hunter,' who also lost his comrades to Wudong. As the sole survivors of their respective groups, the two join forces and embark on a quest for vengeance.
