Binchou-tan

びんちょうタン

Binchou-tan is a series built around a mascot character conceived by mangaka Takahito Ekusa and brought to life by the game merchandise company Alchemist. The title is a playful wordplay: binchōtan refers to a particular type of charcoal primarily used for cooking, while the suffix -tan is derived from a mispronunciation of chan. In keeping with this concept, the main characters are adorable anthropomorphized representations of various charcoal varieties.
