In the 6th-century Frankish Kingdom, Sister Basina, a nun of Neustrian royal lineage, is tormented and suppressed by her two step-sisters. Since no one dares to oppose the pair, who hold absolute authority over the convent, Basina bears her misery alone, guided by the principle "Forgive your enemies." One day, Princess Clotilda of the Kingdom of Paris arrives at the convent, and her meeting with Basina ignites a great rebellion that sweeps through the nuns.
