In the prestigious Stratford School, William Twining is one of its top students. Although he attends a religious institution, William is a staunch realist who firmly believes in modern science and rejects the idea of divine or supernatural entities.
Coming from one of Britain's most revered noble families, William is burdened with substantial debts left by his absentee uncle. While searching for valuable items in the family manor to settle these debts, he discovers a secret chamber. There, a mysterious figure named Dantalion, claiming to be the Grand Duke of Hell, appears before him.
Dantalion tells William that he is an "elector," a descendant of King Solomon with the ability to choose the next Emperor of Hell. However, given William's rational mindset, he immediately dismisses Dantalion as a fraud and denies his claim. Unwilling to accept rejection, Dantalion enrolls at Stratford under the alias "Dantalion Huber" to stay close to William and convince him otherwise. Now, William must figure out how to deal with this relentless nuisance and those who will surely follow.
