In 1925, Taisho Baseball Girls centers on Koume and Akiko, two 14-year-old high school students who are told by a baseball player that they should not play the sport, as women ought to become housewives instead of pursuing their studies. Driven by resolve, they decide to create their own baseball team despite the era's social conventions, which deemed even running unbecoming for women and saw baseball as a sport for men. The girls encounter numerous hurdles such as finding teammates, gaining permission from their parents, and learning the game itself.
