Momo Adachi struggles with her self-doubts because of her sun-darkened skin, which frequently causes her classmates to mistreat her. Her so-called best friend, Sae Kashiwagi, is especially malicious, spreading false gossip and devising schemes to keep Momo from outshining her. Momo's troubles escalate when Sae discovers that the two most popular boys in school have both developed feelings for Momo. Facing these obstacles, can Momo hold onto her love for Kazuya "Touji" Toujigamori, even as Sae constantly tries to ruin their relationship?

Peach Girl won the 23rd Kodansha Manga Award in the Shoujo category in 1999. The series was published in English by Tokyopop, who split the series into two parts, with volumes one through eight printed under the title Peach Girl, and volumes nine through 18 under the title Peach Girl: Change of Heart. The first part was published from April 16, 2001, to January 14, 2003, and was later re-published in the original right-to-left format. The second part was released from March 11, 2003, to November 9, 2004. Two box sets were later released for both parts. The manga was adapted into a Japanese live-action film that premiered on May 20, 2017.
