In "xxxHOLiC: AnotherHOLiC," Kimihiro Watanuki discovers a strange shop that grants wishes, run by the mysterious and captivating Yūko Ichihara. She agrees to free him from the malevolent spirits that haunt him, but only if he pays off his debt by doing daily chores at her shop—an obligation that feels like a life sentence. Despite the harsh terms, Kimihiro takes on the challenge, ready for whatever adventure comes his way. But his tasks turn out more puzzling and dangerous than expected. His first job is to get a pair of fake glasses, which seems simple until he sees a woman tragically jump into traffic. Kimihiro learns these glasses show a different view of reality. Later, when a classmate asks for help with a mystery about ghostly text messages, Kimihiro becomes a detective. With Yūko's help, he must find out if the case involves supernatural tricks, lies, or a dark crime. Finally, Kimihiro meets an odd figure who drives away the spirits tormenting him and calls Yūko a lying fraud. This stranger also offers Kimihiro a way to escape his supernatural debt and gain wealth, leaving him totally confused by the possibilities.
