On the slopes of Crescent Moon Mountain, a place humans avoid because of its harsh terrain, the white serpent monster Ishimi is rudely awakened from his hibernation by raccoons appearing out of nowhere. Enraged, Ishimi decides to disguise himself as an Imugi and torment the most irritating raccoon among them. What he doesn't know is that this raccoon is a monster just like him, capable of taking human form. That raccoon monster is Sokuri, who lives under the watchful eyes of the raccoons that once saved his life. His insatiable appetite has always gotten him into trouble, but provoking a furious Imugi turns this situation deadly. To atone for disturbing the holy sleep of a would-be dragon, he must find food for Ishimi—yet the snake's motives seem strangely suspicious? And for some reason, he keeps demanding Sokuri's attention? The union of the lying snake Ishimi and the cheerful, gluttonous raccoon Sokuri.
