At Hachimitsu Private Academy, an institution that was previously exclusive to girls, five peculiar boys become the first male students. These awkward newcomers, known for their struggles in interacting with females, include the mischievous foreigner Shingo, the eccentric and sickly Jo, the hefty Andrei, the intellectual Gakuto, and the relatively normal Kiyoshi. Frustrated by their inability to connect with the female students, the boys hatch a daring plan to secretly watch the girls bathing. However, a series of errors causes their scheme to fall apart, and their actions are exposed across the school. As punishment, the boys are locked up for a month by the intimidating Underground Student Council, a group of icy and beautiful girls who are unaware that the boys' bizarre and lecherous behavior is about to intensify even further.

Prison School won an award in the Best General Manga category in the 37th Kodansha Manga Award in 2013. The series was published physically in English by Yen Press as 2-in-1 omnibus volumes from July 21, 2015 to October 29, 2019, and digitally from December 18, 2018 to October 29, 2019 for a total of 28 volumes; in Italian by Star Comics from April 24, 2013 to February 20, 2019. The series is currently being published in French by Soleil Manga since July 16, 2014; in German by Egmont Manga since June 17, 2015; and in Spanish by Editorial Ivrea since July 2016.
