Baymax

Hiro Hamada, a fourteen-year-old prodigy, would rather use his inventions and drones to solve the many enigmas of the world than focus on his university coursework. His reckless actions and lack of concern for others repeatedly land him in trouble, forcing his older brother Tadashi to come to his rescue time after time. At a demonstration hosted by the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, Hiro unveils his microbots—tiny machines that can assemble and reshape into larger constructs. During this event, he also meets Baymax, an inflatable robot Tadashi created to provide medical care to anyone in need. Unbeknownst to Hiro, this soft and huggable machine will eventually become his sole link to the person he cares about most.

Background

Baymax was made to tie-in with the 2014 computer-animated film Big Hero 6. The manga was serialized before the movie's release, making it the first Disney manga to preview details of an upcoming Disney movie's story. Baymax was published in English as Big Hero 6 by Yen Press from March 24, 2015 to September 22, 2015.
