In the rough and tumble 34th Precinct of New York City, Daizaburo Edi-Ban, a Japanese-American officer, begins his new assignment. On his first day, he is partnered with John Estes, nicknamed Sleepy by his friends and Mad Bull by his foes. Known for his brutal and unorthodox methods, Mad Bull shows no mercy to petty criminals deemed a threat. His reputation precedes him due to his tendency to break the rules, including theft from sex workers and extensive property damage during operations. Despite his controversial tactics, which often bring him into conflict with Daizaburo and the precinct's upper management, Mad Bull's actions sometimes have noble intentions, like channeling stolen money to a clinic treating sexually transmitted diseases and a shelter for abuse survivors. As they tackle intricate cases involving the mafia and drug cartels, Lieutenant Perrine Valley joins the team to help navigate these dangerous waters.
