After a series of tragic misfortunes leaves her with no one to turn to, Yuriko is welcomed into the Yamakawa household, where she lives alongside the parents, their eldest son Jun, and their eldest daughter Rumi. Yuriko's father vanished while trying to gather money to settle a debt, and her mother died in a car accident brought on by sheer exhaustion and emotional strain. With no family left, Yuriko is taken out of an orphanage by the Yamakawas, since her late mother and Rumi's mother happened to be old high school classmates. Yuriko is placed in a room shared with Rumi, but when night falls, a chilling presence arrives. A snake measuring well over a meter in length climbs up the rain gutter and moves across the rooftop, heading straight for their bedroom window...
