Stranger: Mukou Hadan

During Japan's Sengoku period, a masterless ronin named Nanashi—meaning "nameless"—rescues a young boy called Kotarou from a mysterious Chinese militia at an abandoned temple. Kotarou, who has no family left, hires Nanashi to guard him as they flee from those hunting him. One of the pursuers is Rarou, a highly skilled blonde warrior. Rarou is accompanied by an elderly man named Byakuran and belongs to the same militia, but differs from his allies in that he serves no emperor and instead seeks only to fight powerful opponents.
